Once 2 materials have rubbed together - 1 of the materials will become positively charged and now has a electrostatic charge. If this charge comes in to contact with the right material it will transfer - this creates an ESD Event. If a charge is released on to an electronic device, the heat from the charge could damage the device. In many cases this will cause a latent defect, which can reduce the lifespan of an electronic device. This is where ESD Workbenches would then be a suitable resolution. - 1mm thick material, bonded to an 18mm thick particle board with balancing laminate on the reverse
